Position Summary:

The Belk E-Commerce fulfillment production lead associates are cross-trained to be responsible for the receiving/put-away, picking/pulling, packing and shipping of merchandise in a 150,000 SKU fulfillment center. A lead person is a working leader.  She/he performs tasks substantially similar (in terms of nature and level) as the employees under his/her leadership.  In addition, she/he has responsibility for assisting the supervisor in carrying out certain aspects of the supervisor’s responsibility.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  1. Lead by example
  2. Oversee the training of other employees
  3. Assign tasks within the work assignment
  4. Review work (deadlines and quality)
  5. Provide input on performance
  6. Ensure associates are working safely and complying with safety guidelines on a daily basis during their work routines 
  7. Ability to cross train in all production departments
  8. Follow any job related instructions as requested by department supervisors, managers and the director of the facility
  9. Exceptional customer service commitment
  10. Pull proper SKU per customer order through WM RF scanning.
  11. Locate and pull orders using optimal pick paths
  12. Make appropriate adjustments to orders if needed
  13. Place items in proper pick tote
  14. Transport items to pack station in a quick but safe manner
  15. Keep walk areas and department clean 


  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Good math skills
  • Data entry experience on a Windows based or AS/400 operating system
  • Shipping experience via 3rd party delivery, (UPS, FEDEX)
  • Must pass electric cart, walkie, and forklift certification per OSHA standard
  • Good interpersonal skills, effective communication with other people

Physical Requirements: 

  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a continuous basis, lift above shoulder level and be able to reach all areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to pass certification on material handling equipment and operate equipment safely without causing damage to company property or others.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical duties during entire shift that will vary up to 12 hours per day to include: prolonged standing, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, pushing carts over 300 pounds and walking.  This job requires visual acuity, ability to speak and hear, manual dexterity, and ability to climb ladders.
