Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for the overall direction and performance of the Inventory Control Department, including the development of inventory control policies and procedures and the execution of regular inventory accounting processes.  He/She will lead a team of salaried and hourly associates as they account for all assets within a direct to consumer ecommerce fulfillment center.  The Inventory Control Manager will perform root-cause analyses to determine process deficiencies and will suggest and implement solutions to maximize profitability, merchandise turn, and minimize shrink.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Develops processes and systems to support specific Inventory Cycle Count and Physical Inventory programs
  • Ensures that physical inventory reconciliations, analysis, and reporting are accurate and executed within established timeline
  • Coordinates risk reviews and mitigation plans to reduce the company‚Äôs exposure related to shrink and compliance requirements
  • Performs detailed root cause analyses and provides management recommendations for improvement; Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiencies
  • Establishes and maintains goals based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in partnership with the corporate office
  • Develop strategies, guidelines and reporting to support statistical process and people audits to ensure compliance of process and verify the health of the site and performance of hourly associates
  • Ensures facility level compliance with inventory processes and quality procedures
  • Regularly compiles, verifies and reports statistical information to facility management and external/corporate leadership as required
  • Serves as a key contributor to data integrity and utilization and determines areas of need.  Recommends improvements, acting as a systems-use expert.
  • Interprets corporate policy to ensure internal compliance, including Sarbanes-Oxley controls, in partnership with inventory accounting and finance departments
  • Drive systems development by working with direct reports to determine additional systems needs and liaise with systems staff to recommend upgrading/enhancing systems

Additional Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performance of duties across multiple flexible shifts
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required:

  • 6 or more years of applicable experience
  • Specific work or project experience: Experienced leading a diverse team of hourly and salaried reports; experienced in conducting inventory processes, cycle counts, contracted inventory accounting, etc.
  • Industry experience: Retail, Accounting, Warehouse, 3rd party logistics, manufacturing, procurement



  • 8 or more years of applicable experience
  • Specific work or project experience: Experienced with high sku count operations; experienced conducting inventory processes in large facilities (>500k sq ft)
  • Industry experience: Direct to consumer fulfillment operations; ecommerce inventory/accounting
